I acquired this car yesterday, for 'best price'. It had been standing on a driveway for 7 years after failing its MOT on rot on the rear chassis legs.

We trailered it home yesterday, and got it started with ease. It's running a treat, and drives very nicely indeed (not that I've taken it out on the road, honest, officer). Can't believe it's been sitting for so long - even all the lights and horn etc. work - better than some of our regularly used cars!

It needs a new chassis (see chassis wanted thread...), and the usual welding work to the bottom of the shell, but overall it's pretty decent, and very pure and original.

Here's a pic, taken after I'd t-cutted and polished it today: -

What pleased me most I think, was that after 7 years of sitting about, the rear brakes weren't seized, and they work!

That doesn't help the rotten bits though:-(

I love that picture of all the A-series parked on the driveway. Looks fantastic. Like a 2CV/Dyane Amusement Park! :D

It's not always amusing when we need to move them about (especially the D*lly)! It's even worse when my Mehari's over here as well!
