Well Roland turned out to be ok. Although he had difficulty in finding the shock absorbers

As I wasn't at home at the time I'd written all over the back of the car in board markers with arrows to show the damage and left a list of what I thought needed doing, which he took with him to write his report!

He's quite happy for me to find somewhere to get the work done.

Nearest to me is Mark Evans at Just 2cv, but sadly he's rather too busy at the moment. I've found an independent family run body shop who have some experience with 2cvs and other classic cars so I'm off there today to get a quote.

Right, so after much faffing the car's gone off to be welded and sprayed etc... Bits from ECAS are coming Wednesday (minus hood, that's on back order) :)

Garage rekon they'll have her for 2 weeks so I should get her back towards the end of march, fingers crossed. I've booked some time off work before easter to do some work on her and fit the new shocks and stuff.

Having read Viking's post I rekon I'll have a go at changing the Kingpins...any advice welcome!

Arun Body Shop. They did Daras Rich's AK350 and used to do the bodywork for Simon Day's company Tin Snail so come well recommended. Hopefully it'll be ok. They have a proper spray booth too.

Went over to see the car today. The rear right sweep has been extracted. You can see that water has been getting in through the cracks, given the state of the tubular strengthening piece.

I'm so glad there's brand new metal going in here, it's what should have happened the first time around.

The old sweep was in a bit of a state. Apart from the layers and layers of filler, underneath it appears that the old damaged section of sweep was never cut away :? Instead, it was bent backwards, and a new peice of metal patched over the top. Surely it would have taken like 30 seconds with an angle grinder to strip the old damaged section away?

So the old damaged metal was happily rusting away under the new stuff.
