I agree with the door stickers removed. White with red wings what's not to like.

Each to their own ,and no offence intended ..i just think it makes them look like noddys car :P In fact when i first had an AK van a few years ago it had red wings and the standard cream type colour everywhere else ,some contractor at work when we were outside for a fire drill said 'who's is the noddy car'
Thats not to say this one on the thread isnt a very smart car because it is, i just prefer the earlier cars and straight colours, all only imo of course :)

I did have one pass through my hands once,as you can see i started to customise it in a fetching shade of matt black before giving up and moving it on for spares :P

TBH it was badly rotten in most of the bottom of the shell ,sill and bulkhead areas ,it had lived outside in a seaside town and had then sat outside a local workshop waiting for some attention that never happened ,untouched for a year or so when i probably saved it from the scrappy, for a while anyway,i dont know what the buyer did with it.

Ok, so after the impact the other day, things are moving on nicely. I've filled in reems of paperwork and an engineer is coming out Friday to see her.

Can you give me some tips on what I should be looking for damage wise having been rear-ended?

There's obvious stuff: the mangled bumper and boot lid, and from underneath and insode the boot floor doesnt appear to be bent.

I can't actually get into the boot but from inside it looks like the rear light panel has been pushed in slightly on the passenger side, probably by the boot lid as the lights themselves aren't damaged.

The boot lid was pushed up and from insode it looks like the brackets that hold the hood on the inside are bent.

I can't see any rippling on the inner wings either.

But what else should I be looking for?

Creases in the boot floor and inner wings, any deformation in the chassis legs, the roof, from the hinge upto the rear window area, it could be quite subtle but check the rear doors open and close exactly as they did before. Also, have a really good look at the back of the gearbox casing where the steering rack is, it's not uncommon to find that in the impact the engine and box have moved back on the rubber mounts and the casing has smashed on the two bolts that hold the rubber mount to the rack. That happened in my yellow 2cv and iirc harrys orange one when they were smashed up.

Cheers Russ that's fantastic :) I'd never have thought of checking the gearbox and steering rack.

'Roland' is coming to inspect the car today. I've left him a list of things that I know are damaged and also some notes on the gearbox etc...

Apparantly I can nominate a repeairer (theres another thread on that) or I may just have to go with who they gove me. I've had bad experiences with non-citroen specialists before so I'd like to make sure it's all done properly.
