Bought my wife a D0lly but being totally nieve in my knowledge of 2CV's I ended up with a dud from the start!!! as so began the process of trying to get Scarlet through her next MOT rather than head for the big scrapyard in the Sky!!  Looked OK in the Adverts!!!  Proud new Owner!!  But then when the MOT arrived a few weeks later the fun started!!! To be continued |

Scarlet looks lovely.. Strange though how the camera can, and does, lie. I hope this is going to have a happy ending. |

Next few Photos!! Seats Mats stripped out in readyness to drive to garage...for a replacement chassis!  Arrived at the Garage at 7am ... off with the Bonnet & Boot lid and up on jacks (just in case as chassis was so bad we tought it would snap!!!)  Wings off & then disconnected all the cables to the engine

Body up in the air !! Note the high tech axle stands!!  Engine ready to be removed  And then lifted off the old chassis

State of the old chassis  not suprised the MOT man would not issue me with a PASS!!! even the shock absorber was broken off!!

Replacement chassis rolled underneath  and tub / engine lowered back into place

Then by 5pm Scarlet II was born and ready to re MOT  just the bumper and the rear fog to fit and off to the MOT station (all in 1 day!!!)

Following a replacement light bar that was sand blasted and powder coated, we & Scarlet II were ready for our first new 2CV adventure to the World meeting down in Salbris   And then upon our return, some new stainless steel (chrome look) bumpers ready for the National tomorrow
