Post "Rhubarbe" - 1988 D*lly E922JBL
Built 4 February 1988 according to the ORGA number, she may not be the best cosmetically, but although Portuguese built, bodily she is probably the most solid, rust-free Deuche I've ever had. She's been off the road since September 2009 when the MOT expired. I knew that she'd take more than a couple of quid to get her through the MOT and my finances have been in too parlous a state since; what with a new baby born June 2010, and many other (possibly more essential) things to spend my money on.

I admit that at times since then I've thought about getting rid, seeing it sitting in the drive, gathering moss and looking a bit forlorn. I knew though that if I did, I'd be on the lookout for another - I've tried kicking the habit and not succeeded in the past.

Anyhow... The time has come to sort her out. She's nicely polished and looks raring to go!

Unfortunately a spot of chassis rot means she's not going anywhere at the moment... Still, with the new chassis that's on its way, it shouldn't be long before she's hitting the mean streets of Bognor Regis...

Used to be part of the Puddleducks once upon a long ago, Sam. Unfortunately insane work hours and lack of funds over the last few years curtailed my 2cv activities. That's all gonna change now though...

Excellent! Hope to see you about this year. The Cluesos are now meeting at the Wilkes Head on the first Monday of the month. Jolly nice pub it is too :)

Thanks both... Babysitters permitting we may well wander along to the club nights sometime soon. In the meantime, we'll certainly be at the Brighton end of L2B next weekend, albeit by Renault Scenic rather than A-series. We'll be sure to say hello if we see you!

Or if you want a lift to L2B I'll have a spare seat

Thanks for the offer James. Unfortunately for me, but lucky for you, the whole family would want to come, so the Scenic it is!

And me!

Some people get James and I mixed up, but it'll be easy to tell us apart this weekend. He'll be the relaxed blond guy in a D*lly, and I'll be the weeping wreck in the grey van with smoke billowing everywhere sat in a puddle of oil.
