Ok this is our red one, soon to be my first car in a few months when I pass my test. I've never really considered anything else as my first car, and as it is in the garage, unused most days, it seems logical I should nick it off my dad...

Ok time to update this. Last week I gave it a full service and I've been getting it ready for another year of 2cving 8-) . The bonnets gone off to be repainted, so I lobbed on a spare (thanks Old Nail) and took it for a spin up and down the road. It still drives fine after being left in a leaking garage since the beginning of December, which is nice. Also last weekend, I took it for a trip to see Alan Makin in Manchester as I had a feeling it needed a new drivers floor... it did... They have gone mainly around the box sections and a quick prod with a screwdriver showed just how bad they were... Everything else though (apart from down the inner rear wing seem just behind the back door, and a horrible bodge I found today, it is mostly solid.. So it's going off for abit of welding at the end of the month and at the same time a new clutch will be fitted. Today I painted an old dashboard and put on a recon gearstick and had a go at rustproofing the passenger floors to save them from getting as bad as the drivers side has done...

Image
Old Nail's old bonnet which I will be using till the other comes back from the paint shop...

Image
Gave an old but uncracked dash a quick paint. Looks much better inside now. I also painted the heat tubes as they had gotten very crusty...

Image The drivers floor...

Image
The passenger side isnt half as bad so I had a go at rustproofing it...

As you can see here....

Remember that bodge I told you about? Well this is it... the rest of it is all solid, but this will need repairing asap... Is is worth welding here, or should I risk filling it?

Image
I finally found the holy of holies... Rear overriders. They are now attached and the destickerisation is now complete... I'm thinking of sending away for some french style plates to replace the pikey ones...

Tomorrows jobs are to fill that nasty hole temporarily and get some black tape on the bumpers... Also thinking of painting that bonnet with the french flag.. What do you think?

I've seen that car before somewhere?
Looks very nice as it is but I'm sure you'll make it better as your ownership continues. If you didn't mind cellulose I could have sprayed your bonnet for you for the cost of the paint. Two pack is better though if that's what you're having.

nice car buddy! looks relatively unfaded considering its red! some french style plates would really finish it off (IMO)

Thanks for the paint offer but I've already arranged it. Should get it back on by Friday. You may have seen it knocking about? I'm in Chorley every Saturday so usually take this for a hoon around that wonderful one way system.. LOL
