Wish I could help.

What's your plan then, Jon? Fix the damage & flog it back to rebel2cv?

Don't know exactly what my plan is yet as Lou bought it for me as a surprise birthday present!

I'm hoping that once I've got it back on the road and she's been out in it, she'll realise just how good they really are and bloody practical too for a family.

Then, I suspect I'll be waving goodbye (once again) to the van.

Watch this space, I've got to get it back here first!

History repeats spanners.....

I've once sold a car 3 times to the same buyer, he knocked it up everytime and I fixed it every time and sold it again to the same person..... it was a Citroen Gs...

Made 3 times money from 1 car........... 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I should add at this point that MASSIVE thanks are due to (Welsh) Jonathan of this very parish for keeping his eyes and ears open for any info and letting Lou know when it surfaced.

So, once again Jonathan, thankyou very much.

Haha it's always nice to see banter on this site, even if it is at your expense! It's a good job I couldn't give a damn really, but i will say this:

-The ONLY reason I wanted to sell was purely to fund saving another a-series that i couldn't see being broken up.

-Spanners had 1st refusal when i decided to sell this car. At the time he couldn't go through with it, and if I'm honest (contrary to popular belief i am honest) I am glad he's getting it back and it is getting saved.

-This car was for sale for a fair few months, eBay, various forums, Facebook, classic car websites etc. Price was dropped numerous times to entice a serious buyer, as previous had been time wasters. I even informed the chap we all love in oxford, as no-body seemed interested.

-Accidents happen. That my friends is life. Nothing i can do about that.

-The car was on the drive for over two months, someone still could have had it, yet no-one did.

-When the insurance finally got their arse in gear they offered me more than the agreed value, at this point i had one offer from someone to buy it off me. £300. So regrettably i had to let it go.

-This is my final point. If anyone actually wanted this car they had plenty of opportunity to have it off me with t&t or as a write off. Nobody was interested so it was taken away. This could have been avoided if i had a job that could have paid for the work to be done, i'd have done it myself had i had the tools to do the job. In total i had this car for sale for 6 months, both in one piece and broken, now ask yourselves; would you have been as patient as me before finally giving up?

I'm glad it's finally going to a good home spanners. When your done, please refrain from offering it to me, take sean's advice.

I could be persuaded to be interested in the van if you have no one else in mind (and if I can afford it ...)

I could also be persuaded although I have no means of paying for it.
