A warm hello to everyone at I2F.

Let me introduce you to Mademoiselle, a 1984 Charleston in very good and humble condition.
Having only covered fourteen and half thousand miles from new, full service history and sitting on her original chassis, topped off with her original roof,
she really is our pride and joy.
Mademoiselle has just recently been transfered to me from my French mother as a gift for my birthday. (overjoyed and still pinching myself)

Wonderful. Is your mother the original owner from new?

No, my mother was the second owner. she bought it from a lady in her nineties who had stopped driving.
My mother use to own a Citroen Visa Special twinpot and was very proud of that but sold it many years ago as she was driving less, more recently she wish to rekindle some of those feeling again and as we both love the Deux Chevaux, it was the only choice.

It will remain a weekend and sunny day car, and to keep it humble and honest, as it so original i would not want it any other way.
Its the little things like the tax disc holder bearing the original dealer name along with the plates, there is the A,M. radio (no cd's or mp3 here).

Other than routine maintenance, we have had the wheels resprayed, a couple of small dents removed from bodywork and the the odd spot of rust sorted. We did not go for electonic ignition when she required new points and condencer and the chassis is untouched.

We have added a chrome grill and sainless steel wiper arms and blades just to had a very small amount of bling, even these very small changes had me thinknig should we or shouldn't we. :?

We always get the feeling Mademoiselle is a little bit stuck up! ;)

OOOOOOOOooooooooh! 1984 - French built - that's très bien :D

Is it L or RHD?

Hmm, a 1984 grey Charlie - that'll make it identical to mine.

('cept for 100k-odd miles, new chassis, holes...)

This is partly why i adore the A-series, huge character, each an individual with a story to tell, plus the pure ethos of the car.

Mademoiselle is a French built right hand drive, as pic shows with Mama behind the wheel, shes on my insurance and will still be getting behind the wheel when she feels like a spin! :D
