lol dont worry jack! so far i've had no progress with the dyane since may!!! and now with possible house changes and that i've got the visa to sell ASAP well get running, new starter... fit the headlight i bought then sell... and the dyane will await an available mr Hollis! we were going todo work on it when he was back from salbris and just before snetterton but i think both of us were too busy at the time, maybe it will be done over the winter and ready for next year!

Post subject:  Olivia, haven't made much of an appearance here lately...

i do often forget that there are people on here that don't live in the world of social networking etc, i did start a post when i bought her some few years ago now and put up a few pictures of it on a trailer and getting it back to our workshop etc

then life got in the way, she sat up the workshop for 2 and half years barely touched, well hollis came along on a couple of occasions before i spent the rest of my money on alcohol

anyway i thought i'd share some more recent pictures ;)

this was quite recent, Christmas day actually, sporting her new pressed metal registration plates :)

here she is at snetterton last year

just waiting for someone to point out that she has the wrong bumper... i know, and i need to buy some dyane bumper brackets!

Image

she's much cleaner here, parked up at the inlaws the day after passing her mot

she's a very sensible one at the moment! no loud 2>1... well actually it broke! :/ suspension's at a decent height, mainly for practicality!

she's been on the road since the 13th August last year and she's been absolutely sound!

just need to get them air vent seal repair bits and you get a chilly hand!

she may even appear at a 2cv camp this year! of which i haven't been to anything other than the 24hr for the last 3 years!

You've got to love a Dyane... odd number plate for a 1979 built car.

It is with deep sadness, Olivia is off to Road for the foreseeable near future :( It was a lovely Sunday morning, I was on my travels around town and I had to go through a junction where the lights were out... No biggie, I'd been through that same junction numerous times with the lights out the last couple of days, so I stopped, two others cars did, we gave way to the yodel sprinter as he was bigger than the rest of us!! He starts to cross over this junction, then out of nowhere comes the flying silver fabia... They did not stop, the sprinter stopped them... The sprinter then ricocheted into my path and bang, no more than 2 seconds later, the front of car car was a good foot shorter

you can see whats left of the fabia...

The impact has obviously crumpled every front panel, the engine took most of the blow and the crankcase and parts of the bellhousing on the gearbox are literally shattered, however luckily the damage has travelled no further!

she's now parked up the workshop, i believe assessors will be out to check the damage etc soon, but for now, she won't be moving very far, eventually i'll strip the front end down to the chassis and start rebuilding her once i have all the parts!

That's some really bad luck, i hope the insurers will do a better job than the Skoda driver.

That's a bugger - I suspect they will want to write it off unfortunately.......
