It's been a while since I updated this as there's been nothing to report.

However, that's about to change as, after 18 years of ownership, Rachael has decided to move it on to a new owner who can hopefully get it back on the road pronto.

The new owner is a member on here so, I'm quite sure you'll be hearing all about it as it progresses...........

Well, okay-turns out I'm the new owner, how did that happen? :?

With the house up for sale and, everything up in the air, I need to find somewhere for everything to go and, some way of transporting a completely disassembled blue celeste 2CV.

I decided yesterday, that the best way to move the 2CV would be in as few pieces as possible.

So, after a brainwave yesterday, I managed to get my hands on a windscreen (the only bit I was missing) so, I went out and bought some paint!

Game on!!

I wish it was really as good as it looks in the photos. But, I don't care-I'm doing this for me. I want some roof off summer 2CV fun! 8-)

cue A team theme tune - as spanners sparks up an oxy flame and has a large cuban cigar clamped between his gritted teeth

I remember why I always have cars with crap paintwork now, it's because I can't paint!

Anyway, regardless of that little bothersome fact, I've carried on anyway.

Unfortunately, I'm off out in the morning (it's not really unfortunate, I'm off to look at nice cars and eat a mahoosive breakfast) but, I hope to get the shell ready to come back off in the afternoon so I can fit the fuel tank saddle and reinforce the 'northern' chassis!

Hopefully have the shell back on by Tuesday afternoon/evening and start reassembling as hastilly as possible.

If I can get it MOTd Friday, I'm taking it to the Easter camp for Saturday night! I shouldn't anyone go holding your breath though......

Well, haven't managed to lift the shell off yet due to one thing or another. So, got on with a few other little jobs instead like fitting the engine and box.

Image

And fitting a new tank sender in the vain hope of having an A-series with working fuel gauge-that would be a novelty!

Image

I thought that a bumper (NOS genuine Citroen) and headlamp bar might be good too....

Image

And then just lobbed the panels back in the garage over night to keep them safe from wind/pikeys/cats etc

Image

Think I need to do something about the ride height as well once it's done!

Image

Really chomping at the bit to get this on the road now! 8-)
