As threatened, I thought I'd introduce Jon Ms car to you all.

I shall of course mostly be using my own unique blend of wittering and seriously crap photography.

I don't know a huge amount about it other than that it was a proper Ebay bargain-I believe Jon paid around the £450 mark for it with near as damn it full MOT.

It's Portugese built and on a genuine (I would say its original) chassis and I've just done what would appear to be the first bit of welding the shell's had!

I'm just sorting out the MOT failure stuff so that Jon can get back out there and enjoy it.

So, to the crap photos

I should add that the chassis is completely unwelded and would appear to be equally rust free

Bought it off eBay just over a yr back for £400 quid - bargain!!

'88 OK - On V5 says it was made in '87 unless there other evidence on the car to say otherwise, but not a problem with that

Prior to purchase took mate who gave a once over and it seemed good for the money
Runs great and has ever since really, having taken it out most weekends for a 'blast' around the local area
Took a gamble buying this 2CV, & not looked back. Not until it failed its MOT back in September 2010 - but nothing serious

Once Jon's worked his magic on 'Fifi' [name it came with and kids insist the name stays]
plan to get her properly stripped and 'done up' and full respray - for now Jon's work will ensure she's back on the road for the spring / summer till I can afford a more thorough overhaul.

Finished the MOT work today although I've all but broken myself in the process! SNAFU really!

I think I'm in the majority when I say I don't know how the world coped before the invention of cable ties (or gaffer tape for that matter!) but I'm not a fan of them on driveshafts. So, a little rummage around the garage later and I managed to locate my ligarex kit-one new 2cv boot, securely fitted.



I also decided I'd do something about the dodgy gear change, aside from the fact that the lever out the top of the box was tightened up damn near 90 degrees out, the gearslide was also a tiny bit knackered!



So, with the welding, shocks, "track rod end", exhaust, 2cv boot and other bits done, hopefully Jon can once again be enjoying it again this time next week?



And of course the obligatory photo encompassing the rest of the cars on my drive (I don't why I always do it but it just feels wrong if I don't!)

Ola We have a new exhaust in the garage (the one from the 24hr) just needs the grinder cut, welded up

I'd forgotten all about that Simon, I'm quite sure we'll use that at some point.

Anyway, MOT time for this little lovely at 11 o'clock tomorrow.............
