Evie was rescued my me (with the help of Wal, Louise, Neil, Jono and Suzanne) in October 2007 from 13 years hibernation in a garage near Bath. At the time I needed another A-series like a hole in the head but I just couldn't say no to her!
Manky, but complete and original with 90k on the clock and a wodge of paperwork. The floors and sills are a complete patchwork but the chassis is excellent and the rest of the shell is good too. £150 quid later she was mine

She stayed with Wal in North Wales over winter 2007-8 while I cleared the decks and then she came home with me in April 2008 to be prepared for the road.

MOT Day, April 2008:

She didn't need much, a few patches to the floor, a look at the brakes and a set of tyres later and she passed her MOT just in time for the French National in Dunkerque. A set of Ami super slots, Satin black adventure bars and new black roof finish off the shed/cool look nicely!

Since then she's been a loyal companion, attending both Registers weekend and the International at Duncombe Park last year.

you & me both, Pete!

This is one of my favourite 2cvs around - there was one just like this in Saltash in around '86/'87, it was also on a 'T' plate. it had a full silver adventure kit & silver chevrons on the bonnet. It was sat in the garden when i joined 'big school' in 1989 - up to sills in grass. vanished not long after. Real shame.

What am I missing? What's so great about those rims? Wider? Can fit bigger tyres?

Don't want to steal your post but I can relate to that. Just bought one similar to yours.
Chassis F..... big time, the rest not to bad. Can't decide yet, what to do with it. Just get it through Controle Technique, partly restore it or give it the full monty..

Cool rims BTW. Eirik J from NO-way, I think the rims are Mehari rims (Jante Azur) but no sure.

Absolutely beautiful car mate. What all 2cvs should look like ;)

Aren't those rims the ones they used on the Ami Super and azur meharis? whats so special about them?

Yes they are, they just look great. And not many people have them really.

And that makes them even more wanted ones...

Yep they are Ami Super slotted rims, later to resurface on the Mehari Azur. Not many around (over here in the UK anyway) and it's purely personal preference but many think they look the dog's whatsits (myself included) so are viewed as reasonably desirable as 2cv bits go.

I was incredibly lucky to pick my set of rims up off ebay for £100 quid virtually new.

Evie passed here MOT on Friday. Good times!
