Less demand for Whiskas in the world now but Louisa is one of the Belgian 4x4 2cvs.

Post Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Made a list of what this needs for it's mot, looks mainly like silly things really, half the headlights don't work, a side repeater won't come on, the exhaust is missing and it's got two fubar kingpins. There's probably a mountain of other things too, but that's all I can see. One of my other halfs dads lawnmower-racing chums bought a NOS 2cv exhaust after seeing my 2cv and thinking the exhaust would work well on his mower, thankfully for me it didn't and he's passing it onto me in a week or two when I next see him. Bonus. I'll spend an evening sorting the lights out this week, and with any luck a good greasing might see the kingpins ok. I'm still missing bumpers, because I don't have the kit to make them any more, I'm a bit reluctant to cobble up a raid bumper, so I'll probably try and find a half decent standard bumper for it.

side repeaters arent necessary on a 70s car but if they are there they have to work

That's the problem, they are there and they don't work.

Take them off Russ and fill the holes up, as my dyane is 1979 and it's got no side repeaters.

Dyanes didn't get repeaters, except, IIRC, on the Italian market cars & they were fitted towards the front...

I can't afford to pay a bodyshop to fill the holes, and besides, they work now.

Sorry to drift a tiny bit off topic Russ but, I personally wouldn't fail even the latest 2CV without side repeaters as the indicators are clearly visible from the side of the vehicle anyway-which is all that's strictly required...... :ugeek:

Can't wait to see this back on the road Russ. 8-)

You're not going to be MOTing it though Jon. A man who probably hates 2cvs, hates me, woke up on the wrong side of bed and who's wifes just run off with the milkman and has run out of pass certificates is likely to mot it. That's the kind of fella I usually get anyway.

Sean, it is t the welding that bothers me it's the painting. I just can't do it!
