Post Re: MY AZU B 1974
Ken, I have to read this comment very carefully, , but haven't had time to do so.

Today the weather over here is gorgeous, so I went for a long spin in my van.
Now I am back and fancy a Merlot before dinner .
Cheers . ;)

Geert,
you certainly can alter the jetting, in fact it's necessary to bring the mixture back to stoichiometric, because the various additves in unleaded fuel have the effect of making the mixture too lean.
Bearing in mind that the air/fuel (A/F) ratio for peak power is around 10% richer than stoichiometric, larger jets are a quick and easy way of entering the world of 'boy racing'... ;)

p.s. Is yours a single choke carburettor, type 28, 30, 32 or 34?

My van runs fine, but I have the idea that it could go a bit faster than it does now.
Can I alter the settings of the carburettor without fitting bigger jets?
It runs about 80 KM/H that is 50 Miles /H and with luck 90 KM/H that is 55 Miles /H.

The original engine is slower in acceleration, no matter what jets I install, or what additive I use, it is slow.
The spare engine is much faster in accelaration with its original carburettor.
I checked on the jets and they are the same as I had on the original engine before I changed them.
The spare engine sounds better as it runs, the original engine sounds a bit rough.
It is a 34 carburettor.
The topspeed of the spare engine is about 10 Km/H more .
But the main advance of the spare engine that the accelartion is much better

I doubt it Fer, it starts better too, so I think there is more to it .
The original engine always has troubles starting, especially when cold.
But it will check it anyway .

My 2bhp

All 2cv engines run OK, some just fly, when all the options have been tweaked.

Maybe examine Camshaft/ Crank timing, which I think VGS can adjust/setup.

Every time I drive my Volvo through Bonnyapuszta, there is an IFA truck parked at the roadside.
When I drive back again in my 2CV van, it has gone.
And I would like te take a picture of both.
After several attempts, I got it .

And I also want to show you the townhall of Kaposvár :

Kaposvár is about 30 km from our home and we go there for shopping.
But it is also a very beautyful place to wander arround .
