I applied for a "historic"registration number , and so now I can fit the old blue and white reg. plates:

Fitted the doors again, to make sure that they still fit .

Today we will take the body from the chassis again so i can treat the bottom .
So next month I hope to start preparing the body for spraying

Treated the bottom agains rust today and applied a coating for protection.
Next step is to seal all the welding-seams and afterwards the body will be placed on the chassis again

Fitted the body to the chassis again today, and tomorrow I will start the preparations for spraying .
I found someone who will spray the car for me ( the finish), I will do the epoxy-primer and the filler etc.
So at last the project will come to an end, although I don't think it will be finished before next September/October.
The best is that everything fits, the doors, the chairs , the mudguards etc.

Not so much . I still am preparing the body for spraying and that takes time .

Last friday an acquaintance from citroenazu.nl came to visit me with his newly restored AZU 250, originally same colour as mine.
He was very proud, that he had managed to get the car registrated in NL.
Here are some pics of his van :

Post Re: MY AZU B 1974
I am having my annual summer holiday , so I thought I would do as much work to the van as I could, so it would finally get finished.
Last Thursday I had to level some weldingspots with an anglegrinder and although I was wearing safety goggles I had a metalsplinter i my eye . My wife took it out, so I carried on . But at 3 o'clock in the night I had to rush to the local Hospital because i could not sleep of pain. There was an other metal splinter that was left in my eye, the doctor took it out with a kind of mini drill.
So yesterday I could not work on my van, and today the eye still is sore. I can't see properly and I don't like any dust from sanding in my eye .Hope to carry on tomorrow.

Today I sprayed the van with epoxy primer.
Unfortunately the primer was finished before all the parts were sprayed, so next week I will have to buy some more primer .
The spraying was not so difficult as I expected . So next weekend I hope to finish this and then the van will get sprayed in colour : AC 639 Blue Lagune.
