Post Re: MY AZU B 1974
Yesterday my son and I replaced the kingpin, and applied the dustcaps.
Today I want to sort some bits and bobs , so at the end of the the day it should be OKe.
Next week I want to take it to the garage again for it's MOT and that should not be a problem as kingpin and dustcovers are sorted now.

Today it passed APK ( MOT) without any remark.
So frrom today I can drive and enjoy it.
Leaving the premisses of the local garage , someone in a mordern Peugeot flashed the headlights and make the thumbs-up sign.

Geert, I think your AZU is now about ready to be swapped for mine! ;)

Just let me know when you set out, and I'll make sure I get all the parts ready for you, labelled and arranged in well-marked boxes.

I am sure you would like that! :D
But I don't want to take away your hobby from you .
I could help though !
If you post photo's of the individual parts on here, I could tell you which one match :D

I found it a most rewarding experience to get this van on the road again and there will be a next one for sure.
I need to spent some time and money on our house now, particularly the kitchen and the garden .The next project has to wait for a while , so I have plenty time to decide what it will be a 1950ths van or a AK 400 .

Yesterday I took the van for a ride and I enjoyed it very much, the only thing I got pissed of where those bloody SUV's . They think they are king of the road and anyone else is in their way.

Geert, get used to it, thats one of the benefits of driving in a 2cv, just like the thumbs up, focus on that...

Other strange habbits....
Other cars must overtake you because you are a slow vehicle space or no space.
You never have pryority even if you have.
Everyone wants to race you at the red light, because from you they will win.
Trucks will push you (driving only a meter from your back) at the motorway thinking you will go faster then.......not
When making a fast turn people behind you will back off, because they think you will fall over any moment.... (I accualy like this one a lot)
etc. etc. etc.

My van runs fine, but I have the idea that it could go a bit faster than it does now.
Can I alter the settings of the carburettor without fitting bigger jets?
It runs about 80 KM/H that is 50 Miles /H and with luck 90 KM/H that is 55 Miles /H.

Geert,
you certainly can alter the jetting, in fact it's necessary to bring the mixture back to stoichiometric, because the various additves in unleaded fuel have the effect of making the mixture too lean.
Bearing in mind that the air/fuel (A/F) ratio for peak power is around 10% richer than stoichiometric, larger jets are a quick and easy way of entering the world of 'boy racing'... ;)

p.s. Is yours a single choke carburettor, type 28, 30, 32 or 34?
