Post subject:  Ronald - they're all called Ronald

Hi - I've just joined the forum, so thought I'd post some picture of Ronald.

Ronald is my fifth 2CV. I've had them on or off for about 25 years now - all of them called Ron or Ronald or something similar. In fact in our family, ALL 2CVs are called Ronald (long story... maybe another time).

The photos aren't very recent - he's looking a bit rustier now. But he's a reliable old thing, dearly loved and used every day.

I live in Cheltenham, and a forum member tuned by piano for me the other day, and pointed me to this forum, so if you're reading this - Hi!

Hey Jude,

Dont make the rust sound too bad, take some red oxide and make it better ;)

Welcome to the forum.

No - it was Cheltenham. We didn't actually meet as I was at work (as was my car) but the subject of 2CVs came up in conversation with my wife & I was introduced to the forum. BTW the piano sounds great, so I can recommend his services!

Thank you.

I bought him about 8 years ago when I moved to Cheltenham - he met my simple criteria of having a good engine, and already having a replacement chassis. Oh, and he just happened to be a Maroon and Black Charlston like the original Ronald that took me to my wedding and on our honeymoon*. The only thing I needed to do to get him on the road was to fit a decent stereo. :D

* I really must digitise a photo - anyone know how to get from photographic plates to JPEG? ;) In the meantime, here's another confirming that he's very much a working car, and one from last winter - it didn't stop him getting me to work!
