 My latest 2CV.....

Post My latest 2CV.....
Hmmm, where to start?

Erm, it's a 2CV, ex D*olly, in reasonable condition I guess.

So, what have I done to it? Thanks to Simon Crook of this very forum, I've got rid of the red wings etc and fitted the white ones off his scarppage find along with the roof and seats (which are pretty horrible but the old quilted ones had turned to dust!) and I've polished (yes, polished :o ) it and made it look a bit better.

So, piccies coming up.

I took it a bit far maybe polishing....

After a crap journey to the (Inter)National and back (possibly one of the reasons I didn't enjoy it as much as I could've?) I decided to see what was causing the poor running, these are what I found on removing the plugs!

And, yes it has got the reg number from the racer-giving that up was a bit like having my heart ripped out so I had the plate transfered over to feel like I was still using a bit of it!

Looks pretty clean, I think plain white suits the 2cv pretty well. Although it does start to look shabby pretty quickly, I drove my old white one through a winter of commuting 500 miles a week. - you could see where the rain funneled along the bodywork.

What happened to your racer?

It's currently languishing at Simons while I decide what to do with it.

As for white cars, I know what you mean about keeping on top of them. I was really reluctant to take it out on Monday to WASPS but Taffy had threatened me with extreme violence if I didn't! ;) And, I was picking Char up to take her along for the first time so figured it was only right and proper that if I had to drive to my favourite real ale/micro brewery pub, I should take a 2CV.

If people can't be bothered to see what the link is (I wish I hadn't...) it's Queen, "Another one bites the dust".

I'm mildly offended by that Jonathan. Partly because I've been woken up by the hundreds (thousands?) of coaches hurtling up our road taking "pilgrims" to go see the Pope at the end of our bastard road so I'm tired. And partly because which part of selling a car because you don't like it is "biting the dust"?

Wouldn't biting the dust be something more like me breaking it?

I buy/obtain etc cars, bring them back to life, drive them for a while, get bored of them and sell them. Rarely do cars "bite the dust" in my hands Jonathan!

She's all but gone to pastures new. But, a very good home where I'll get to see her and talk to her/pat her etc. 8-)
