when you do have it running will you be using the exhaust that was on it?

Great job so far though Matt, how long have you and i been talking sidewinders on and off? gotta be 10 years later now and its all coming together :) :)

Yes going to keep the exhaust as is....I like the side exit set up....And unfortunately the engine and box are in but not yet bolted down as the exhaust did look a pig to get back in as is..Hopefully a bit of jacking up and swearing should sort it out!!

It must be years I've been talking about one...and the funny thing is I've never met up with you....Hopefully next year I should make it to an event or 2...fingers crossed!!!

I've just read all the posts about paint jobs on the last page. I have to say I'd just leave it in that faded blue, it looks great. :)

Does doesn't it....Gives it that rat look....Will have to fudge up the bottoms of the doors though hopefully without losing to much of the colour...Grey primer will probably match in fairly well!!!

Eventually got round to getting exhaust on...and yes what a bastard!!!! took about 2 hours, ....after removing manifold, driveshaft disc and caliper, Jacking up one side then jacking up the engine and box I eventually got the exhaust under the gearbox and in the right position...No swearing though well maybe a bit..

Still struggling with the wiring and the wires around the coil.....Getting a auto electrician round soon so should have it running soon...

Still got a few small jobs to do and the seats to fix in...

Nearly there.....Next stage posted soon!!!!!

2 Hours, yes thats about what it took John and I when we had it running with the new clutch in. Wiring shouldnt be too bad, OK i havent seen how you got it, but it did basically run as was when i walked away from it (sorry John)

Matt
Got it from john with all wires removed, coil, cap plugs etc all boxed...so unfortunately it came to me naked so to speak...not really up to speed with GS wiring merged with dyane wiring which is whats causing the problems...
John has emailed me a couple of pics from his vans wiring which has been helpful....Just need to put pictures in to practise..If possible!!
Hope to get some time on it this weekend and hopefully attempt to fire the beast Up!!

Bob
certainly not as lower as yours, but its as low as it will go at the front, or should i say its on the bump stops,
can't get a boot (foot boot that is!) under the front of the chassis, although the wheel in the arches don't make it look that low...

Have you done anything different to yours...

Its still in bits (well front end is in the garage) so not many more pics to show you.. its almost there...so will get some more pics dowmloaded as soon as i've got it back together..

Pete Sparrow made the set up for the owner after spanners (luke, his name was) its a great fit and not too bad to fit, BUT its easier to do if the gearbox and engine are'nt bolted into the car, otherwise its a very much pig of a job involving swearing and bleeding.

Matt

Well the sun came out today up north so....

Although I had got the exhaust in it wasn't bolted in.... Didn't realise it was another 2 hours to do that aswell!! What a bastard of a job, Ya right its a lovely fit just the ticket but the bolt under the geabox what a git!!
All done now and as you can see fromthe pics its almost back together, still haven't sorted the wiring so still to fire the beast up!!!

I still think it'd be nicer painted instead of being left as it is.

It's come along great so far though, top work.
