 LGY 275P Rises Again!
Author Message
Post Re: LGY 275P Risers Again!
Matt, Tim has hit the nail smack on the head.

It really is that easy. IIRC, you have an ignition live to the idle control solenoid thingymebob on the carb and to the + side of the coil and then you have a wire from the - side of the coil to the distributor assuming you're running on points?

I'll have a look at some of my old photos, see if I've got any pics of the wiring for you matey.

looks like an interesting workshop and sorta warm and comfy, plus the light looks great! I struggle squashed into a garage with poor lights, Neil even more so!

Ok At last [*][*] The Beast is Alive!!! [*][*]

Took a fair bit of turning over and fiddling bit it runs......BUT once running it has a very loud screach (really ear piercing) coming from somewhere, gets loud when revving!!
Clutch??? Release Bearing??? Or something???

AND there seems to be petrol and oil pissing out from somewhere quite a few puddles on the floor!!! GREAT!! :(

(Anyone have a spare 1220 or 1299 GS engine kicking about!! ;) ;)

Hi Neil,

Well Not really, Engine and box out again...A couple of phone calls to Rob from Chevronics and some new seals, spigot bearing and a genuine Citroen Clutch Ordered,

The Beast has sat at work in its lovely little garage all nice and cosy!!
Since the middle well 17th of Dec work has been closed Term Time over xmas!!
And last week the Kit car was getting our attention so really nowt happening,
Should have all the new goodies by next week so I'm hoping to get it all back together and some progress should be made there after....

Still given myself till the spring well April May to get it all finished, legal and burning about the streets!!!!!!!!
So I'm still on course I hope!!

Ok not really much news but, Gearbox back together, after a chat to Rob (chevronics) he just recommended a new input shaft seal, so thats in and box back together,
New Clutch fitted, (decent one this time) New discs aswell..

All bolted up, mated gearbox to engine, got hoist out (too heavy to lift on me own!!) and now engine and gearbox (with that tricky exhaust already fitted whilst engine was out!!) is back where it should be,

Thats all I got done 2nite. hopefully wire it back up and bolt it down and try firing it up again...Hopefully with better results this time!!!!!!!!!!!

Decided to put a few things back together last night instead, re connected driveshafts, fuel line, brakes etc and think I've got the wiring cracked now..

I'm going to fuel the beast up via the fuel tank this time rather than a small container connected to the pump, I'm confident thats is going to be almost driveable but 2moro night well 20 ft in front of the car and back again!!
