Just caught up on this. Looks like you are making good progress.
Wheel spacers are confusing me, how do they fit on the hubs? What studs are you going to use or fit? Weird. perhaps this would stop my tyres cleaning the exhaust and arms on half lock....
Your thread always makes me want to spend more time on Jeremy!

Tim,

The spacers will fit up against the hub and behind the wheel, if you can picture that!? The 3 hole drilled in them match the 3 stud wheel pattern, but have had to drill them out slightly as they were to tight on the studs, also had to open up the holes on the inside as the new stud had a longer raised bit when they were fitted to the wheel hub, which meant the spacers would not sit flat up against the hub, but it does now!!

The studs were from a Volvo I think and r about 65mm long, almost double the original stud and fit perfectly into the hole, just need to spot weld them back in again!!, (i still have the invoice and can give details if anyone needs them)....it now should give plenty of room for the spacer and alloy and more than enough thread for the wheel nut to attach to..

Will set to getting them sorted in the next week or so..

We just used some suitable sized washers to slip over the studs on the rears of our old sidewinder to stop the wider tyres rubbing the inner wheel arches - still left enough thread on the wheel nuts to catch......

Paul that probably works fine if you use standard wheels, but I've stupidly got those GS alloys on....

It's right on the edge well fairly close at the moment and it doesn't get anyway near full lock before it hits the exhaust, hopefully 20mm spacers will stop this happening...

Work has started again today, abandoned the wheel spacer idea now, may be a project for much later   after a bit of "should of thought of that earlier" we decided to modify the exhaust instead so it clears the tyre on full lock, after this our attentions were turned towards the engine, old one is out and the new/replacement one is being built back up and soon to be slotted in....but once removed we discovered the clutch fork spring return thingy was rubber ducked split into 2 pieces!! (See post in technical asking for replacement one)

Doing some more 2moro, should have engine completed with new belt, tensioners, etc and ready to put in car!!

I'll post some pics 2moro as I know we all like pics ;)
