Hi,

You'll find here below some words about one of my car. I did finish to restore it in June 2008.

Model : 2 2cv AZL3 1960
Made in Belgium - Forest
Chassis : 104 09xx
First registration date : March 1960
Engine : 425 cc
Color : Monté-Carlo Blue

History :

At the end of 1957, the production of a new version of the 2CV AZL starts in the Forest manufactory.
It's the first time that the 2 2cv get a limousine model (6 windows). The "3" in the model name does mean 3 windows on each side.
The AZL3 in 1960 does has specific rear wings to be able to replace the rear wheel in a more easy way.
She will still have a lot of elements from the AZL like aluminium wings protection or "glove compartment" in the front doors.

She still have the windscreen washer handled by a rubber peer. She does have the Belgian "Luxe" 2CV driving wheel.

There is a specific opening system to access the spare wheel.

The lateral flashing lights brand is Scintex.

The car was sold with Michelin Pilote 135x15 (made in Belgium) tyres.

Welcome!

That really is gorgeous! I've been checking out the Forest website - it's really informative & nicely laid out... 8-)

That's really pretty, have you any pictures from the restoration?

I love the rear wings, it seems that Belgian 2CV were as different from the French ones as Slough built cars, it looks similar to the home market cars but everything is just slightly different!

The opening rear panel is such a good idea, I wish Citroen had put it on more 2CVs, it would make changing a tyre so much easier when the car's loaded up for a meeting, or perhaps an easy access beer store?

These must've been the only 2CVs to run on Crossplies!

Pilote tread is so deep it makes it look as if the car's on stilts. Truly the opposite of low profile rubber!
