how do I copy and post it? This was my only transport for many years, anyone see it recently? I sold it to two women in Norfolk who said they wanted to turn it into a racer...

cheers

Wow! Great patina!

Could someone explain the x-reg to me? is this a way to see in wich year the car came on the road?

I guess it was about 2006 that I let it go, more the pity... Yes X reg signifies the year 1981.

In the UK, cars have the same plate from the day they're first registered to their first owner to the day they're scrapped. Since 1963, that plate's included an indication of age.

From 1963 to 1983, it was the last letter - ABC123D
From 1983 to 2001, they turned the plate around, so it was the first letter - A123BCD
From 2001 onwards, it's two digits in the middle - AB12CDE

Long explanation...

This link will help. In UK all our cars from 1963 are issued with a registration number that has a Letter indicating the year:
