In the second picture absolutely EVERYTHING within a ten mile radius is lathered in Gris Rose overspray.

Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
New number plates arrived in the post today. I know I'm jumping the gun a bit and won't be needing them for a good long while yet but as far as number plates go they're pretty sexy. This is the sad remains of the original front plate: And this is a new one: It's the third set I've had from http://www.dealerplates.co.uk/ and I can't fault them.

Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
That looks good, it is a shame they've used the post 2001 font rather than the earlier 1973 to 2001 version

Yes. I just noticed that myself. My fault really I suppose. He emailed me a pic first to see if I approved and I never noticed the font was different then.

Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
I need to get out more.
Today I've been researching number plate fonts and it's all your fault.
It's a truly rivetting subject and I'm now an expert on it.
Before the 2001 legislation came in there was a variety of fonts in use for number plates. After 2001 there was only one standard font. The real difference between pre 2001 digits and post 2001 digits is that they changed from 57mm width to 50mm. My new plates have 57mm digits so are pre 2001 spec.
Absolutely and utterly blummin' fascinating.
I need to get out more.

Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
Was the width change for the letters in order to accommodate that silly EU symbol?

So I believe, yes. Looks a bit silly in the middle of a plate without any graphics (like on my motorbike )
