Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
Quote: Was the width change for the letters in order to accommodate that silly EU symbol?
According to Wikipedia... Quote: The width of the previous font was condensed from 57 mm to 50 mm to allow space for the extra letter and the optional blue EU strip.

Re: Very rusty '86 Bleu Celeste.
Still beavering away. Attacked the front axle which looked like something off the Titanic.. ..stripped and primed.. ..and painted.. Track rod ends were stripped, checked, greased and put back together with new bolts to the hubs etc. So this morning I brought the chassis in from the cold and was faced with this airfix kit.. ..which after a leisurely days work now looks like this: Knackered now. Red wine and Carry On Camping. Smashing.

It's actually 'Gris Rose'. The same colour as the bumpers and wheels. It's pretty glossy so the shite shouldn't stick with a bit of luck. I did my bug underneath in bright yellow gloss over ten years ago and that's still gleaming, so fingers crossed it'll be fine.

I'm sort of hoping my lass will run it during the summer but she ideally wants a van. The sensible thing would be to sell my Charleston and keep this, as it'll be a far better car when it's finished, but I could never get rid of the Charleston. We've been through too much together.
