I had this raging beauty delivered a couple of weeks ago:

Image

She's been stood for a few years as she wouldn't run. The local garage couldn't get her going and took exception to the exceptionally rusty rear end:

The passenger side floor must have raised some eyebrows too:

Image

I got her running without too much drama and proceeded to pull her apart.

Image

The galvanised chassis is what made me interested in taking her on but the bodyshell is truly awful:

Image

Soon had passenger side floor and sill chopped out.

Image

Door pillars repaired.

Image

And new floor and sills fitted.

Image

Had to repair a bit of the bottom of the bulkhead but the rest of it was fine so wasn't worth replacing it.

Image

Image

It took all of about 30 seconds to remove the sad remains of the boot floor.

Image

Now waiting for parts. New rear quarter panels, inner wings, complete boot floor, back panel and a nearside front a-panel.

Should keep me busy.

Nice :) Take it back to said garage when you get it back on the road, just to show 'em how it's done.

Saw this on the 2CVGB forum a couple of days ago. Good on you for taking the bull by the horns & getting stuck in! Nice to see another one 'on the mend'.

Yes, I've never really sprayed much in the past so I'm going to give it a go. I'll start by spraying the shell and see how it looks.
I suppose I'll never learn if I don't try.

I speak to the chap who runs the garage just about every day. He's pretty impressed that I've even got it running although I reckon he's questioning my sanity when it comes to the amount of welding.

Mind you, I don't think he's the only one.

Yeah, reckon so. The lighter the colour the less the imperfections show up!
