Hello Arfur!
That looks brilliant, I hope you're going to keep him looking the same, but spot on mechanically.

Re: say hello to "Arfur" the azu.
yes warren that I think will be the plan, super clean on the inside and underside and original but protected on the outside as much as possible. there will have to be some creative camoflage on the new patches around the belt line but not too difficult. sam, don´t know the ins and outs yet of the varieties maybe someone else can inform us I think its a 1966, I havent seen the papers yet as they will have to be brought back to life the original owner basically cleared out his garage to the guy I got it from along with a landrover and a diane. hes not died yet so I´ll hope to pick a bit of extra history next week. no idea why its not been legal for so long..its quite feasible that for a number of years it was used just for around the village, as its pretty hidden away up a hillside next to a nuclear power plant!
still wearing the original michelins which are shredded anyone know about the radio? would be great if it worked
nows the time for me to do my homework.
any links to threads about the 6volt stuff and the 400 engines will be very appreciated oh and it is the same gearbox that was on sidney from 1976..so yes the spanish built stuff definately used old parts

Re: say hello to "Arfur" the azu.
I think it's a bit earlier than that. 12hp engine + suicide doors. You can tell it's a 12hp engine as the manifold has three studs where it attaches to the head each side, it looks like the metal around the centre studd (between the in/outlet) is cracked, but it's meant to be that way to allow for the expansion that occurs as the engine heats up. The later 18hp 425s had 4 studs on the manifold. Suicide doors were phased out from December '64 onwards. The cab roof is smooth (later vans had indentations). The indentations were introduced in Jan '64, so I'm guessing it's an early 1964 car given that its 12hp? sig wrote: oh and it is the same gearbox that was on sidney from 1976.. Only on the outside. The ratios inside will be very different. There are two styles of gearbox. 'tin top' with the gear lever at the very back of the box and 'later style' with the gear lever on the cover. http://www.cats-citroen.net/home.html

Re: say hello to "Arfur" the azu.
Your just down the road from me (one road) - I had a 1970 which is now back up on the Le Bon Coin - http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/547434570.htm?ca=16_s but says it is a 64... not true) and now a 57 which is waiting for a paint job (I do like the original rusty look but I do like a nice paint job too) Any questions or help just let me know - I can sort of muddle through now
