Just bought an Ami 6 Break, the Club model, so with the double headlights.

First I wanted an Ami 8 Berline, but they are hard to find in Holland, and more expensive than a break. So decided a 8 break was also an option. Found a few nice ones on the internet, but they were sold quickly so I'll kept looking for a nice on.
On the site of the dutch Ami Club there was an 2 months old advert from a 6 club break...

Checked the advert, asked for some more pictures and decided that a 6 club looks really great!
Went over to see te car, did a testdrive... Two days later went again with Punky and my girlfriend and did a (low) bid on the car. Bid was too low for the seller, so agreed to call back after a few days so I could think about the price..
Called back today and said I'd stay with my first offer. Seller wanted 100€ more, so we split the difference. Going to pick the car (and parts) up the next week.

Car has got disk brakes and a full LHM system, 2 years MOT, lots of parts (will be for sale), bad interiour and paint, but it runs ;)

I'm happy!

More when I pick up the car.

Car does need some work:
* paint, will be done this summer
* interiour... Some cheap covers from Halfords or so
* 123 ignition
* Radio
* tectyl treatment
* thing i'll run into while driving it..

Looks great! Is it an original Dutch car, or is it a French import?

It's a french car, imported in 2000.
In France the car was located in Estoher, Pyrénées-Orientales.

The uncle from the current owner bought it there and imported it. Current owner has the car since 16-03-2006, and only did about 350 km's with it since than... Stood in a garage most of the time.

what he said....they look so much better like that

just back from Gironde area - only saw 2 Ami 8s on the road, dozens of Meharis, dozens of 2CV6s - and an immaculate Panhard

no Ami 6's though

welcome indeed......

Yes, it is nice like this.. But if I don't do anything about it, the car ain't gonna survive the winter..
It wont be shiny, just painted ;) It's still an break, so using it were it's build for is the way to go ;)

So, rented a trailer for the parts, hooked it up to the pick up and went off to get the car and parts.
Car was easily done.. But the parts: had the trailer filled with bootlids, doors, and 2 rear fenders. In the back of the Ami were some more fenders, and front and back bumpers.
In the back op the pick up some small parts/bits in boxes. Still don't have all the parts, so made an appointment for next thursday to collect the rest.
All parts will be sorted. What can be thrown away, will be thrown away. Things I keep, I'll keep and some parts will be for sale.

Some pictures:

Parked.. Will make a picture with the Ami next to the 2cv's

Some funny things:
- Speedo is very optimistic. 100 km/h on the speedo equals 80 on the speedo from the 2cv
- Fuel gage has got ADHD. Is all over the place, unless the car is not moving.
- Seats are rubbish, but very comfy
