Post AKS400 Pastis
I have been hounded to start a thread showing the breakdown and rebuild of our AKS400.

This van was acquired after the 2009 National meeting it just so happened Dave Jenkin was selling his ongoing project. A quick trip upto Gedney for a look. Yes it needed a lot of work but seemed do-able!

It had been stored dry and the first couple of pictures show what we started with.

Ok boys I need this body lifting!

Jack made a frame to take the body to allow it to be moved around in the garage. This has been really usefull as its allowed me to move it on my own.

Yep its a Ken Hanna 400 Chassis.

Looking forward to seeing this finished. Between us we'll have vans capable of carrying enough pastis to keep half of France going.

I remember this before it was taken off the road for its restoration. Every year Jenks used to say it would be on the road for that year's "Gathering of the Vans". 1998 is the last time I remember him saying that. :) Good luck with it, looks like a good starting point.

Swapping the front damper mounting plates over to their correct sides might be a good idea.

Unless they're only fitted temporarily, for transport purposes...

Nice, Norm. Have you set yourself a goal for it to be finished, or will it be ready when it's ready?! :)
