Post subject:  My Bamboo 2cv 4x4....

I have a bamboo 2cv 4x4 and thought i would share some ideas etc.
My 2cv is ment to have:
A 602cc engine, with a snorkel and soon electric fan!
2 standard 2cv gearboxes with a connecting propshaft, No diffrential's.
Not raised suspension, but found out all you have to do it tighten the 24 size bolts and put different rods in, will do this when have a moment..
A Louis Barbour 2cv 4x4 chassis,
Snow/Mud Tyres and soon tractor tyres from 't.p.v 2cv'.

But unfortunetly My 2cv currently has -
No engine in after seized up the old one,
Possible gearbox damage because of the sudden seizsure of the last engine. It locked the front and back gearbox and now because we have no engine we cannot test it & a slight bend in the chassis after going to fast over big rocks... in brecon beacons 2006!!
Since the seizure we bought 2 apprently running engines for £120.00 each (602cc) and found they where actually completly nakard... so have had to rebuild one of them, We have put the extra power pistons in to see if it makes a difference going up steep hills.. most probably not but still worth a try.
We are going to be putting an Electric Fan on the rebuilt 2cv engine to make it better in water I have been told it makes a difference! It is a Kenlowe fan which are apprently water resistant so shouldn't stop working!
Feel free to take a look at some 2cv 4x4 websites,

Do you mean no diff locks? If you have no diffs then even with an engine you'll be going no where?

 Brilliant Mark! Must admit that I was cheating a bit as well with a spare gearbox in the back. Could you sent me the originals please?

A former lady friend of mine managed to slam my Dyane into the back of Marks car at the Greece World Meet. Result- one new Dyane bonnet required by me, one miniscule scratch on the 4x4.....

arf!
