Post Punky's 2CV and Ami8
Hello,

I'am new on this forum. I've been registraded for a couple of months now and only read the topics. So it's time to post on this forum.

I'am Dolf from the Netherlands. Some people know me from other forums under the name Punky. Punky is my 2cv6. I have this 2cv from 2002 and orignally it's a grey 2cv special. But I build it to my needs. :D

My 2cv in 2002:

I restored it in 2003/2004:

2 years ago I build a new bigbore (652cc) engine and it's changed a couple of times bodyworkwise.

one year ago.

At the world meeting in Most it looked like this:

The black/grey one. The green one is from the sister of Tom Duckpower.

I can't get more pictures from my 2cv at work because of some filters on the internet. :x

End 2009 I bought a second A-type. A Ami 8 Break from 1972. It was 3 colours. Beige/blue. I painted it blue.
And this week I ended a build-up of the engine and changed the breaking system.

The ripple bonnet has it charme. But the modern one is easier to use and indeed looks better on this 2cv.

Cool cars, love the 2cv paintwork it's smart ;)

How's the 652 engine? Do you still run that engine?

Thanks guy's.

The black on the 2cv is an idea from Olli from the Snail forum. And due a accident I painted the doors black. I can use old grey doors and grey Charleston doors now. :D I like it al lot.

The 652cc engine is great. Torque is much more. When we were going too Most it was verry easy to drive in the mountains. Topspeed isn't increased much. But that is normal.

I agree with Neil, it does look a lot better without the ripple. And as you say a lot easier to work with.

It has been a while sinds I posted a update.

My 2cv is parked in the garage, and I use it not so many times if I wanted to. It has got a new APK/MOT.

I'am very bussy with the Ami right now.

After the clutch died, the brougt me home.

So I started to rebuild the originale engine, as was planned, but later this year.

I made a new engine out of 2 engines, the original one and a engine with a broken cranckshaft, but new cilinders and pistons. These were in good condition. The cilinderhead is rebuild by a revision company. And I putted new bits like gaskets etc in the engine. It drives now for 3000km with no problems, but it is a little incontinent. But that now problem. It's an old lady. ;)

I splitted both engines. This is the original engine.

Cilinderheads after the rebuild.

Image
Pistons and cilinders from the donor engine, with new pistonsrings. This set was as new. The originale one was rubbish. They had the same problem as the set Russel had on his Ami. Little bits broke the cilinderhead and the upperside from the piston at one side.

New engine in the Ami. With a new clutch and new brakedisks and brakes.

Another job that's been done is welding a new front panel.

Image
Old situation.

Image
New steel. The chassis was OK.

Image
New upperplate with ribbles.

Image
Image
New primer and coating.

Image
Little welding doors.

And last but not least a idea from my wife.

Image
Doorboards with retro design.

And some pics with the cars. The Mehari is my dad's. I build it with him after we rebuild the 2cv. The Mehari gets a new engine now. The crackshaft makes some noise.

Today I stripped this Ami 8 Super. The rest goes to the junkyard.
