There is! I was chatting to Graham last week & he mentioned the Bamboo that was in his yard last time i was down. He was saying the chap that owns it (Alex) bought it as his first car & absolutely loves it. He was moaning that he's ruined it by lowering it & fitting corrected front arms! (he's not a fan of lowering) The owner lives in Plymouth, but works away a lot for an oil company. Last time i saw it it had GS wheel trims & AZAM hoops.

Just found a picture of it on my hard drive - obviously this was taken before he 'ruined' it!

Probably cos it was basically a for sale advert, the mega draconian retro rides mods will have deleted it.

*post self moderated due to having said stuff that small minded individuals may have mis construed as criticism*

Post Re: Slamboo (FOR SALE DUE TO CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES)
well just been posted up for sale on another well known 2CV forum
for sale for £1500 now

I quote...
"Due to my wife threatening me with divorce papers, I have to regretfully sell my beloved Slamboo. Four Snails are (apparently) five too many in her book.

Bought it just a couple of months ago from Brian on this forum, it's proven to be a very reliable and fun daily runner.

I did have to raise it a few centimetres since purchasing it, as it was just too damned low, and can be adjusted back to it's normal riding height if you so wish.

Taxed 'til Septmber 2010 and its MOT is not due for nearly a year (March 2011). It's currently being romanced by a chap from Australia, but I would like to give someone on here (and the UK) the chance to enjoy this lovely fun machine, whilst keeping it in the country!

Currently advertised for £1500, I would easily take a cash offer from a club member. I will also throw in a pair of very good (and rare) BX front seats, if someone fancies doing the conversion.

Any questions, just ask"

I take it that its best to avoid yeah
Jon

No one seems to be keeping it for long. I wonder who's going buy it and jack it back up so it's a practical car again? Or is it just a pile of scrap which happens to have been lowered? ;)

18 months ago I paid £50 for it. And I never looked after it in the year of ownership. The advert on eBay was a pack of lies, it can't be adjusted any higher, and if you fail to tell your insurance company about the cut and turned front arms and the hard springs, they may not pay out if you stack it.

What a bargain....
