I'm still voting for Betty anyway! ;)

@ Jameswallace, I agree that Louise and Scott should get themselves checked but you do realise that compensation doesn't fix the pain and that the money has to come from somewhere don't you? The money comes from insurance companies meaning that to recoup that money, they put our premiums up.

You'll learn one day James that the way we've turned into a "no win, no fee"/"where there's a blame, there's a claim" type society (like the US) has also cost us all dearly in the fun department ultimately and constantly curtails our enjoyment!

Louise, I'm very sorry for the thread hijack there and hope that you're both okay.

i was in a car accident recently, suffered pain after it, and didnt claim, as i didnt feel it was neccasary, i probably didnt word that correctly, but i get what your saying, i agree that its all going american, "ill sew your ass" but i was mearly just saying about it...
and yes i realise money has to come from somewhere.

Is that why "You're full of s**t" is a favourite saying over there?

Ouch, I'd hate to have my arse sewn up, reckon I'd explode!

Anyway, regarding claiming for injuries-I'm not entirely against it if it's genuine and the money gets spent correctly. It just pisses me off when people claim a shedload of money for "injuries" and then spunk it on a holiday or similar.

Racahel had a (very) drunk driver go into the back of her 2CV and she had to have about 3 months of physio which she did claim for but there was no change from the physio.

Once again, sorry for the thread hijack!

Like I say Russ, it's just my opinion on the "compensation culture". After all, it's one of the reasons insurance companies that have to cover such things as (Inter)Nationals don't like fires or fireworks and other so called "ill behaviour"......... :(

Maybe I'm just on my moral high-horse?

Like Russ says, Louise, do what you think is right.

Post Re: Betty
Put it this way, I've had two big hits in 2cvs and both were written off, I lost the car and got nothing at all apart from false blame from the first accident, the second one I received compo only because I was injured, I managed to keep the car( still in dads garage) I didn't waste it though on a holiday like people do, I bought my favourite a-series off Spanners! Not giving you false hope, some people don't get anything, just get yourself checked up, nothing to loose in my eyes, think of your safety first, worry about claiming anothertime if that's what you decide
