Bit of an accident, think Betty is now dead...sad times

When we can we should do a deuche speciale on betty.

Sad news What happened? Did the car behind, push you in to the Astra? I'm quite surprised there appears to be no damage to the Astra, given the amount of distortion to Betty's front end. Hope you're ok.

Yup the blue Rav 4 you can see on the pavement went into the back of me i was stationary and got shunted into the vauxhall (a 10 plate courtesy car lol) some old lady 'lost concentration' thought id pulled away and went into the back tbh she must pull away pretty damn fast because it was a pretty hard bash.

Seats have been ripped off the mountings scott ended up lying on his back in the seat, foot stuck in the dashboard and head resting on the rear seats. doors wont close etc you can see the rest

Looks nasty RAV4 must have been going quite a speed to do that much damage especially with an adventure bumper

unfortunately, the design of the mountings for rear 'adventure' bumpers are such that they work much better as a hinge than as something to repel invaders...

i sure they will right it off, not what you want to hear, but you could always buy it and get it sorted if it means alot to you, one way to look at it

at least your both ok, im asuming, chassis folded, shell bent, engine buggered, ?

i agree that rav 4 must of been going some to cause all that, did you have your foot on the brake at the time?

and if you had wiplash, i was told it was £2000 personal injury

Yeh i think its definately going to be written off, dad said chassis has gone, front of the engine fan etc is all pushed in i'll take some more photos tomorrow.

Yup my foot was on the break i dont usually put the handbrake on unless i'm parked up but something i might change in the future!

Don't think i'm going to buy her back as much as i love her and will probably regret it i think for money purposes she will be scrapped and i'll buy something else (2CV shaped) as i'm trying to save for travelling next year (of which betty was going to be a major part of our trip )

we are both fine i still keep finding new bruises and the pain is spreading from my neck down to my shoulders and chest area but we will live which is the main part.
