Nice 2CV, very nice. I love the galanising/plating look. Does it wear well or do you have to polish it up or anything to avoid corrosion? |

Erasmo I've not seen your previous posts so this is the first I've read about your car. Is the entire car galvanised? What sort of problems did that spring up? I understand that a fair amount of heat is used in the galvanising process which can distort thin metal. Did that happen to you? The foam. Is that high density foam which won't absorb water or moisture? |

Paul, I'd guess that the shell and wings have been hot dip galvanized, whereas the doors have been electroplated. Relatively thin, flat panels don't usually survive the 450 C required for the hot dip process without suffering a fair amount of distortion. ken. |

As I thought Ken, ta. The doors do have that yellowish sheen of electroplating. |

It also dampens the high tones and the noise caused by resonancing in the door. I've used some soundproofing foam from the local hardware store. Today i went to Burton, got the soundproofing for the bonnet, yellow lights, a new fuel cap(with lock) and some clips for the door panels. |

Nice! Do you have more photos of the car from different angles? Especially the electroplating bits? It really is eye-catching  Would it be possible to electroplate a whole car? And how will that stand agaist corrosion compared to regular paint? |

For now i have another problem; stonechippings on my bonnet... |
