Post Brookys '85 Special
Hello all,
Neil finally got me on this forum after some sign-up problems so I feel duty bound to post a pic of my car. It's slowly undergoing some subtle changes.
Early grille, gently lowered front end (without the mods to the front arms), reverse cone megaphone side 'silencer' (sounds awesome outside, can't hear myself think inside) and not been washed in over 12 months now. Lovin' it!
Brooky.

Right, I've done something wrong there. Can one of you computer boffs edit that for me please, and then tell me what I did wrong? Cheers.
Brooky.

Hey Brooky! Glad you made it here (eventually)! All that was wrong with the lack of picture, was the fact you had 2 lots of tags - did you copy & paste the URL off of photofuket & also click the [img] tags as you posted on here?

Neil

Hi Neil,
Yep, that'd be what I did. So there's no need to click the 'Img' button then?
I just cut 'n paste the 'IMG' line from photobucket? That's slightly different to the procedure on the snail forum, which has two 'Img' buttons; a start one and a finish one.
I expect I'll get the hang of it. Bloody 'puters.
The car has also got a galv chassis and will have the front indicators removed & the holes plated over. A pair of Landrover side repeaters have been fitted in the front bumper to replace them. I've got a pair of sill trims to fit and I need four new tyres. Best source I've found so far is 120 quid plus carriage from 2CV City for four 135 ditchfinders that look like ZXs. Anybody got any experience of these?
Brooky.

yep, photocrumpet kindly provides you with the [img] tags needed - so it's just a case of cut n paste...

If you were 'borrowing' another image off the 'net, find your photo - right click on it, down to 'properties' left click - down to 'address' (URL) - highlight the whole address - left click & copy. Back to the forum - click 'reply' as you would normally, click the Img button thing so you get this:

then left click and paste the URL in between the IMG tags!

HTH ;)

Hey Joe,
That 'silencer' came fitted to a 1974 Ducati 450 Desmo I bought in 1976.
I had to 'swell' the original 2cv exhaust pipe to fit over the silencer inlet stub but it's pretty easy and like I said before, it sounds the dogs!
Your best bet for finding one would be at a vintage motorcycle autojumble or an old, long established motorcycle shop specialising in Brit bikes. I guess you could try eBay under 'megaphone sliencer' or 'reverse cone megaphone silencer'.
How about this one;
ebay item number 120295011364.
The people selling this one have loads of other styles of cool chrome 'loudeners'!
Brooky.

Errm yeah, it'll burble beautifully when idling, but seriously, at certain revs it goes right through your head (inside the car) and through an underpass or tunnel you will not believe how evil it sounds!
