There may be a word limit per post. Try breaking it up into chapters.

 Re: My 2cv
Popped out to the 2CV around 3pm and it started first turn of the key. Left it to idle for 5 minutes then cut the power and went back indoors. I've been running the car every day for the past couple of weeks, so I might leave it a few days now and see how it performs after sitting unused for more than a day. It might be late Sunday afternoon or more likely Monday. I've got the VMR NYD meeting on Sunday lunchtime, so I'll use the Morris for that.

 Re: My 2cv
Final (?) word on this recent saga. I borrowed a battery which has been on the car for the past four or five days. The original battery has spent two days and nights connected to a smartcharger. I disconnected it two days ago. I've just been out to the 2CV and with the borrowed battery, that's been in the car for most of the last week, it fired up with the first turn of the key. I then swapped back to my 'fully charged' original battery... Flat as a witch's tit! Completely DEAD. So it's a duff battery after all.

 Re: My 2cv
A smart charger doesn't recognise an almost empty battery and won't charge it. I had the problem too. I had to use an vintage modell which charged the thing with no problem... Unless the battery is really dead...Of course

 Re: My 2cv
Bought and fitted a new battery on Monday. Car has been sat for over 48hrs and started first turn of the key this afternoon.
