click 'user control panel', top left under the forum banner.

on the left hand side of the screen under 'options' click 'profile' - then click 'edit avatar', again in the left hand column.

there are size restrictions. It's fairly easy to resize pictures using MS paint...

what do you want as a new username?

Post Re: My 2cv
Have had a really strange experience with my car. Was out in it this afternoon and it started to cough and splutter and lose considerable power. I thought I'd better ease up and brought the car to a standstill, where it stalled :( I jumped out and lifted the bonnet to see what I could find and noticed the drivers side HT lead was loose. I tried to push it back on, but it wouldn't tighten, so a closer inspection brought to light the problem...The screw on 'cap' on the spark-plug had unscrewed, causing the HT lead to fall away from the plug and the cap to drop away and get lost. I managed to push the HT lead on loosely and get to Peter Cross' house, where he fitted a new set of plugs :D (And here's the weird thing, the 'cap' on the passenger side plug was just hanging on and would of dropped off any time soon  ) Peter mentioned that normally, the caps are fitted tightly and are difficult to remove. Strange.

From experience with bikes, where the cap usually isn't used, they're never very tight and can often be undone by hand. If I'm leaving the cap on a new plug, then I always try and give it just a little 'nip up' with the pliers to check it's tight before fitting.

Have been down to Wales today, the weather was super and I just tootled down the M5/M50 at 55mph, fantastic, life doesn't get much better(unless I was in France, on an open road in summer, with the hood rolled back,<sigh>) 8-)

Post Re: My 2cv
Taken the 2cv over to Peter Cross at Tibberton(he restored the car, two years ago). When he did the car two years ago, the sills were fine so I told him not to worry about them, but now they have rotted through at the front, so having them replaced. Am also having the rear brakes stripped and rebuilt and getting a leaking joint forward of the drivers side heat exchanger, fixed. Should have it back, week after next......Just in time for my holiday
