I used to carry a white and red ribbon in my vehicles to avoid these events when we were working on the pavement or other situations where traffic or pedestrians could get involved .
Maybe you should apply one of these . ;)

Post Re: AZL 1957
I had an moisture "eater" in the car but some times it toppled over and the dirty water was all over the floor. This water keeps attracting water. And after the last heavy rainstorm water came in at the highest point of the roof. Never had that. So today i pulled everything out. Washed the rubber mats with scrubber, dasty and water they were very filthy. The floor i washed with a rag very dirty also. And as there was some rust along the sills i pulled all the sealing out, brushed the lot, vacuumed it and let it dry. When dry i put primer/rustconvertor on it. I wanted to put the front bench in but did see one of the struts was broken. So welded it up. And just after putting everything back together a heavy rainstorm came in pfpf just in time ;-)

Drilling a couple holes in my floor was the best thing I ever did. I only wish I'd done it before.

Did clean all the edge around the vent flap with water and toothbrush. Lots of moss. After the heavy rain yesterday evening no water in the car this morning.
