 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Great to see the blurry fan! The interior looks real nice, the accesories like the gearknob and steering wheel and the colours you've used really do evoke "something AZAM" about it. Not sure about the red throttle pedal though, surely should be green for the accelerator and red for the brake?

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
More progress today. The rear wings have gone back on, mainly to prevent me keep moving them around the place, along with new front and rear bumpers. Still lots to do, but it's nice to start seeing 'almost' a car again. http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Would you care to swap your project with my finished car once you've completed your tinkering?

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
I'm actually looking for another 'hobby' project for when this is done. Won't be a 2cv next time though, something from the 1950's perhaps.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Something like this perhaps? My intention has always been to run the 2cv as my daily driver, but if something tempting comes along who knows?

Snowy wrote: Sacrilege!! How about this: Heh heh, I'd have loved that black van back when I worked as a nightclub doorman So, on to today's progress. I took some photo's from the internet which showed the 1966 AZAM model inside and out, and so got myself some of those upper door hinge covers to fit into mine, so as to match the interior spec of the AZAM models. I did them, which meant measuring and drilling holes in the 'A' post for them, and then fitted the hinges and seat rails back in too. Next up, while I had my drill handy I decided to mark out and drill the bonnet to receive the metal trim and chevrons it will be having. This too went well, 'Gor -blimey' I'm on a roll. There's a lot more in depth write up of how I went about it all here. http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Spent most of today asleep so nothing earth shattering progress wise. I have glued in the side trims and refitted the front roof securing bar though. I can't remember if it had a gap like that originally, but no amount of adjustment to either the bar itself of the locking catches seems to make any difference so it must have? http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
I stored my seats in a damp place over winter and they rotted. So today I've stripped them bare, painted the frame the same grey as the bumpers and seat rails etc, and restrung with new hessian. I'll fit some new foam shortly but then I'm stuck, as the old covers are too bad to go back on. Currently looking for a solution!
