I was in the man cave last night. Took hours and was fun but at the end not a lot to show for it! Die grinding the inside of the plenum, around the injector mounts and inlet flange. Die grinding shavings are brutal! I also took a lot of time to align the pulleys... More pics soon! Harley

 Re: Aussie' Kermit
Spent the night lining up the belt drive for the supercharger, mounted on the original alternator mount. Fark me its all out of wack! The original v-pulleys don't libe up on any plane, no matter how far I rotate the head back or twist the exhaust header... It's finally within a beez dick with the new 3rib serpentine belt. I also acquired some 10mm teflon I shaped and port matched as both gasket and heat shield for the inlet to heads and supercharger to inlet. Pics to come as my camera battery died! I'm really happy with the result and it's looking like I will be able to fit the oil cooler in close to the original position behind the alternator set back and mounted on the other side. Harley

 Re: Aussie' Kermit
So... I am about to fit a new Quaife LSD to the LNA gearbox in my 2cv, thanks Mr Barbour In order to get a lower ratio first gear I was thinking about swapping out the final drive (crown wheel and pinion) from a GS 1015 gearbox I have. LNA final drive = 4.125 GS 1015 final drive = 4.375 At 5000rpm in 1st gear it = 1.3km/h drop in speed... Doesn't seem like much... Hill starts are a bit of a clutch drag at the with the LNA final drive, will this make any noticable difference? The other issue may be the crown wheel from the GS 1015, see pic, is it rooted? A I barking up the wrong tree? Note corrosion... Pinion looks ok; I don't have the LNA box out at the moment to inspect it but when I had it apart it all looked very clean! Anyone know if individual 4th gear ratios can be swapped between an LNA and a GS box!? Help? HArley

 Re: Aussie' Kermit
The lower ratio will only be noticeable when driving up extreme inclines. Eg a Car with a std box will just NOT make the climb, a car with lower ratios (Swiss gears) will get up the hill. Rotted = Damaged?? The pitting caused incorrect set up of shims..? http://www.xtek.com/pdf/wp-gear-failures.pdfHad the same idea about gear swapping, not yet tried it, let me know how you get on,
