 Re: My 2cv
Popped into the garage on the way to work this morning. Chap has promised car will be collected at the weekend, and work will begin early next week. I'm not holding my breath just yet. Doesn't need a whole lot of time to get it fixed. Biggest job is replacing the bent suspension arm. New front wing and side valance have already been down to the paintshop in Lerwick, and are now back on the island and sat in the garage waiting to go on the car.

 Re: My 2cv
Yet another promise was broken. Car is still sat in my garage, but I have another promise that it'll be collected on Thursday morning. They had the battery to keep it in good health, but handed it back to me this afternoon, and I have refitted it to the 2CV and had the engine running for the first time since October. God, I have missed that beautiful sound.

 Re: My 2cv
I often wonder if they want the job. Initially they refused, but the bloody insurance company persuaded them to take it on. I wanted the car sent down to the UK mainland to be fixed by a specialist. Even if the car is collected in the morning, it'll be Monday at the earliest before work starts on it. This weekend is the Uyeasound Up Helly Aa and the main mechanic is involved in the running of it.

 Re: My 2cv
2CV has finally been collected by the local garage <faints>. I'm hopeful it'll be back home and back on the road by the end of next week.

 Re: My 2cv
Yeah, it has been a bit of a biblical saga, but I popped by the garage today and the work is well underway. Front offside suspension arm is off the car and the hub has been swapped to the new arm complete with new kingpin. With luck the new suspension arm will be fitted to the car by lunchtime tomorrow, and the new bumper, wing and valance can be fitted. I'm hoping to get the car back by the end of the week.

 Re: My 2cv
Don't forget to check and adjust the tracking with that new arm fitted. That was, of course, directed towards the garage...
