 Re: My pick-up
Common problem with a burton torpedo... Not very rustproof.. gives a nice sound though (sport exhaust) back to the 20€ walker... lasts a few years

 Re: My pick-up
Doesn't all those shinny bits look silly on your car?

 Re: My pick-up
They do... But it's hard to find new rusty and not shiny reflectors

 Re: My pick-up
Left the car on contact for about a day, so the battery was flat... Bought a battery charger yesterday, hooked it up to the battery and this morning it was full again. Dropped it in the car, and it started again.. Whoohoo! Hopefully next wednesday for MOT.

 Re: My pick-up
Hm.. Car failed the MOT about two weeks ago: * Chassisnumber is not readable * No reflectors in the rear side (for four years, never heard anything about it) * Engine breather is not a closed system (also never heard anything for 4 years) * Left windscreenwiper worn * Loose wiring under the bonnet * Licenseplatelight at the back broken Solved 4 items from this list. Chassisnumber will be done the 12th of july and the wiper will be rented from another 2cv. When I build the pick up I used a new chassis, and in january 2006 the chassisnumber was put in to the new chassis by the RDW (Dutch DVLA). The place they choose is a bit odd: behind the rear right shockabsorber. The machine that places the number was "modified" to fit under the tierod. But I think the needle barely hit the chassis. Every year the garage used sandpaper to get rit of the rust over the number, so this year they sanded the number away I guess.. Or they did last year and never mentioned it. When the number will be placed again, I'll choose the place for it.. Innerside of the bag legs for example. Put a new sportsfilter on the carb, were the pipe from the breather can be put on:

 Re: My pick-up
Sounds like they were a little strict on you. I've also taken bits off other 2cvs to get one through an MoT! The first time I had the Bamboo MoT'd It had most of the front end of my yellow 2cv on it!

 Re: My pick-up
My mum once found her megane on the drive up on axle stands, I'd borrowed her wheels and tyres to get an MOT on my R19. She was not impressed.

 Re: My pick-up
Put your chassis_number near the driveshaft mostly it's greasy over there so it won't rust away.......

 Re: My pick-up
I know. But the RDW-numberplacing machine doesn't fit there without removing the wing and shaft. Mainly because they don't want to get thet white coat all dirty. So they put the number behind the shockabsorber, wich I removed from the car...
They always choose wierd places for a number at the RDW..
