The roof is edge is probably not repairable, another starting point would be fine but I doubt if I ever will find a Cimos Ami again...

Anyway, got me a battery and tried to start her, which resulted only in a click. Made contact on the starter with a screwdriver an it made some noise and pulled some sparks, this indicates a faulty relay if I'm correct?

Excuse my ignorance, but what is special with a "Cimos Ami"? And why is it called that?

Anyway, good luck with it :)

Cimos was the Yugoslav built-under-licence factory...

That roof is always a problem with Ami break. Problem is that the rain gutter is between roof and lower part of body. It is a "sandwich" of 3 parts , somewhere 4 or 5 ...
Limousine AMI 8 ... roof and rain gutter is in one piece so less chance to rust.

But, yes it is a lot of work to repair that , but can be done . I have experience with that... all AMI8 breaks here is like that more or less... rusted. Other problem is how you repaired that rust. Normally owners want to have job done as cheep as possible. So, patch here, patch there . But I work a little bit different. I produce parts as much as I can in one piece and then cut and replace all necessary parts so there is no rust left. And that is why I am not cheep.

So everything can be repaired , it is only question of what owner want to have and how much money he is prepared to spend for his car.

And just to say, sometimes patching a citroen is almost always expensive on the end .

This is 10 years old photo of one AMI8 break in condition like Erazmo-s new AMI

And this is picture of same AMI after 9 years of everyday use...

Thanks 2cvkeza, we'll be in touch for further details :)

Little problem here, I'm trying to remove the starter relay but I can't get it out of it's little cave. I've removed 3 bolts and al the wiring, tried to twist it a bit and applied some gentle force but nothing seems to help.
Does anyone knows how to get it out?

Edit:Meanwhile I began working on removing the whole starter unit to take a look on it's guts while I'm working on it anyway. Port side bolt came loose without any problems but my spanner nr.11 keeps slipping of the other bolt. Put some WD40 around it and hopefully it will come loose tomorrow.

So nothing has happened to The Galvanizer last few months because I'm still out of the country, however I got a nice idea what to do with it: :P
