Thanks Max. Yeah, it was an easy pass, but as with every year I thought it'll fail on something. I should have more faith. Emissions in particular were/are stupidly low.

When you have more faith it will fail. Always go in doubting. I do. haha

Post Re: My 2cv
I've taken the rear seat out of the car and spent an hour removing the cover before throwing it in the washing machine. I'm hoping it'll come up like new, I've just taken a peek as it's been in about an hour so far and it's looking good. Just hope it'll be easier and quicker to refit to the frame  Watch this space.

Washed, dried and refitted. Will refit the seat tomorrow morning and do the front seats.

Rear seat is back in the car, the front seats have been stripped of the covers, the covers have been thrown in the washing machine, been washed and refitted to the frames. The passenger's seat cover is a bit threadbare, so if anybody has a decent diamond style cover for a passenger seat going spare, I'll be interested in hearing from you.

PS:-Just as soon as funds allow, I'll be getting these from ECAS.

I guess you also intend to buy 50s/60s seat frames to fit them to as they won't fit D*lly style seats without some adjustment of frame or cover.

So I've heard, but I'll see what I can do :)

I removed the BX seats this afternoon and refitted the 2CV seats and it does look so much better, especially since the rear seat is looking so much cleaner, it's as though it had 20+years of road grime and diesel soot covering it, but now it's spotless. One happy chappy

Post Re: My 2cv
Went out for a drive this afternoon and ended up about 5 miles from home and parked up at a picnic area alongside a ford, which is a nice spot for a nap  . When I switched the engine off I could hear a very strange noise which sounded like cows in a far off field  When I got out of the car and walked past the front of it, the noise seemed to be coming from under the bonnet, so I lifted it up and it was actually the bonnet that was making the noise due to a very weird vibration!! I've never had that before.

Been out in the 2CV today, ended up in Bristol via Wales and the Severn Bridge. Car has ran beautifully, but the strong, blustery wind caused havoc at times. On the way home this evening I noticed the dip-beam, along with the speedo backlight, flickered every now and then, so I may have a bad earth or supply wire somewhere. I'll keep an eye on it.
