 Re: My 2cv
I bet you've just booked a ferry to France from Portsmouth for tonight, £132 return including a cabin for an 8hr overnight crossing.

 Re: My 2cv
A great first day in France, found a lovely B&B just outside Fougeres in Brittany. Day 2 about to start. The car is running superbly well, it must know it's back in France. Lol

I know what you mean I can't wait to get back with mine for 6 months starting in April. It's the whole ethos of France that takes you over driving a 2CV.So many people just point wave and smile.

 Re: My 2cv
Visited the big motor museum in Loheac, Brittany, today. It's an amazing collection of some 400 vehicles. I then spent a few hours at Viking's. I only popped over for a coffee and chat, but came away with quite a fair bit of fettling done to the car and it certainly feels much improved. Thanks once again, Viking.

 Re: My 2cv
After 6 days and 1002 miles I rolled off the ferry at Portsmouth at 9:50pm and 140 miles later I was home for 12:15am. I stayed at a farmhouse Chambre d'Hote near Bayeux last night and the owners have a late 60s early 70s DS, a 1971 2CV and a 1954 2CV, all working and all on the road and used regularly. The room I had was at the top of the house in the attic and the whole farmhouse was very French, very quaint and very oldie worldie. Wonderful!

At the wheel was the actor Paul McGann They came back and forth a few times, parked behind me for a while then shot off. Ten minutes later I headed off in the direction of Gaydon (where the Motor Heritage Museum is) and got stuck behind the Healey for about 2 or 3 miles. May see my 2CV on some TV drama around Autumn............ Though more likely not As a footnote to above, the driver of the Disco was a right crazy idiot, he kept moving over to the wrong side of the road to get different shots but the road was very twisty with some proper sharp bends and blind spots galore!! Paul McGann is on The One Show at the moment and he's talking about presenting a program on Sky TV about old cars called 'Petrol Age' on Thursday night.

 Re: My 2cv
Just returned from the local post office with a new tax disc for the 2CV, thought I'd get it before tomorrow's Budget when no doubt the price will go through the roof along with everything else.

Yep, it was/is a great day out and it's only 30miles from this year's French National for those who are wanting to visit it.
