Just those pesky spring tubes to remove tomorrow, at least one doughnut where the metal backing has blown and has rusted onto the tube, and then we're nearly done.

This windscreen panel, scuttle and upper front bulkhead area I have never before worked on. I think it's going to be challenging, mainly because it needs to be spot on. Any hints and tips always welcome
working on it outside today with only the cheap pavilion over us made me determined to build a dollie (maybe using part of the old chassis?) and pull/winch the bodyshell into and through the garden to the old tent .

So I'll make the little trailer into a flat bed, bolt two 50x50mm. or 100x50mm. wooden rails to it, fasten the drawbar to it and hitch to the quad from work(don't tell them ) . Lift the bodyshell onto the trailer and screw through the floorpan/chassis bolt holes into the rails using flat washers to secure the screwheads. Then remove the fence panel again, make up a 'track' for the charabanc to glide up and over those flamin' raised beds and up to the tent (which is showing it's age now).Pete says he'll give me a hand this Saturday.
I've stopped moping about the van now and am ready to get stuck into this project. I'd like to do a good job on it (trouble is you've all seen my standards ) and then keep it and sell the Charleston.

I know, the Dyane is a nice car, but I prefer the van........

Yep, I know what you mean and maybe I'll be able to have one in Portugal if we ever end up there . Let's see what happens with this yellow Flamer, the important thing is to get these old vehicles back on the road .
