 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I've got the old man to take my Peugeot wheels to work and try on a few different size tyres. Ideally I want a fairly low profile 155 or 165. Blackcircles have 155/65/15s for about £150 a set or 165/65/15s for a bit more. Ideally I'd like to lose between 5mm-10mm off the ride height with them, and have a fairly stiff sidewall. With any luck Dad can bring me home a couple of scrap tyres to try and so I can cut off anything they're going to foul on (or make sure they're not going to foul on anything I can't cut off) before i spend any money on them.
As for the roof, well, there's no way i can justify buying a new roof for it, but there's also no way I can justify using the roof it's got. I think I'm going to have to be creative with that aspect of the car.
I'll have to whip the front arms off it at some point and take them to work to cut/turn them, also, I'd like to have a fair bit of camber on these, so the top of the front tyre is tucked up in the arch. On the Bamboo every time you had it sideways on opposite lock the tyre caught the arch and pulled the wing and headlamp bar off. I'd like this to be a bit more considered and professional than that.
I'm a bit worried about the rear arms. They aren't holed but under all the crud when you squeeze it it feels like it's gone a bit rusty. I'm aiming to have a go at bending them, how exactly do I do this? just make an arm bender, bolt it on and tweak it on the car until it looks about right?
Looks like I might have to get the cage out of the racer shell (it's useless for that anyway) repair it, and fit that too. I'd like to make some extra parts for it (hot rod style chicken bars and a rear 'X' brace)
Simon, what's up with the race car? Is it nothing that can be repaired in situ?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
Russ the rear arms are easy, wheel with an axle stand welded to it, bit of scaffold bar, I have one here, we need to do a couple of arms for the race car in case!
The race car shell where it bolts through the floor (see picture) its not doing anything!

I'll have the welder in the car, I can bring wings and headlamp bar iff you like?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
Not sure if they are better pictures! took the bolt out and yes you have guessed it - it rolled along the floor, straight into one of the floor holes BUGGER The bits would be great thanks
