My view, Why would you risk damaging your near perfect shell to repair such a small part? Just whack some wax oil in it, tape over it and go get wezzed.

The shells on its side now anyway. With its memory foam mattress haha
I'm scraping off all the old waxoyl as we speak
My view is to keep it good while it's good

So the car is very good There's lots of tiny tiny bits like you see in the pictures... I'm glad I'm nipping them in the bud!! I was really down yesterday. Hate not having a 2cv to drive

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
Te only thing that concerns me is it's taking a lot of effort to complete remove the waxoyl...
After seeing how it's protected the bottom of the car I'm quite impressed My only concern would be of a slight residue was left as the paint wouldn't adhere then
I'm giving it grief with white spirit and a rag but it's really slow and hard work

I prefer to wait untill the worst happens.. In that case I only have to remove the shell once from the chassis and not every time I see a rusty spot. In that case, I can the the body off every month

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
I've given this some thought. Removing all the waxoyl and painting is going to be a ball ache.
So only rusty bits are getting the full month treatment

 Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
I've ordered some upol zinc 182 primer. I've decided removin all the waxoyl to reveal good metal is a bit of time waiting.. So rather than do that I am going to wore brush with te drill any bad bits or rust that are showing, paint with zinc 182 and waxoyl
This will hopefully stop it
Also te two areas at the back, where the tank saddle is, and where te back sits on foam, are the worsely affected for me, as they weren't waxoyled as its not possible while the car is on the chassis
So those bits I'm going to wire brush rust off zinc 182 it, then in going to put the epoxy mastic stuff on it.
Any thoughts as to that plan?
And yea dave if it's good it's good
So only rusty boys get treated
