Including a new kingpin, I'll be spending about £75 tomorrow morning :( ....I haven't got £75 spare to be honest, so I'll be trying to get a loan from BMD first thing tomorrow.

Spanners,
I'm not sure if crankshaft end float is too much of a worry.

The most I've found was on a Vege reconditioned engine, around 1mm iirc, and that ran really well... ;)

Thanks for the input, Ken. :) Spanners knows how much it means to me that I keep as much of the original engine as is possible. I know it is rather sick atm and it needs a top end rebuild, but I'm hoping with new barrels/pistons it'll be good for another 205 thousand miles

Yay, cheers for that Ken-that's about what this engine has.

Right well, I'll get the heads and barrels off as soon as and see what we have then.

Last seen in Sarah Laffins Dyane and previously in Lukes Cote D'Azur-didn't it do a World Meeting, Luke?

Dear me, less than two years ago and I can't bloody well remember! Pretty sure you're right though, I think I did take it to CZ. :D

Hi Spanners, would you be able to do a compression test on it before taking the heads off? Just out of curiosity really, to see how low a reading you get from an engine that's worn out but still running. But don't worry if you haven't got time or can't be arsed, like I said, only curious.
